Questions about our classes?
We've answered our frequently asked questions below
Who should attend the Retirement Education Course?
The curriculum is designed for individuals who are within five years of retirement or already retired and who have approximately $500,000 or more in investable assets. That said, the course is open to adults of all ages and financial situations who are interested in improving their understanding of retirement planning concepts.
How do I register for a course?
To register for a course, visit our Courses page, select a date that works for you, and complete the online registration form. Once submitted, your registration will be processed by our team.
Are virtual or online courses available?
Yes. In addition to in-person classes hosted at local colleges and universities, registrants from across the country may attend virtually via Zoom. Virtual participants are able to engage with instructors in real time. While in-person attendance is encouraged when possible, this option is available for those who are unable to attend on campus.
I registered for a course. Where is my confirmation email?
Confirmation emails are sent from learn@refedu.org. Please allow up to one business day to receive your confirmation.
If you opted in to text updates during registration, you should receive a text message at the same time as your confirmation email. Be sure to check your junk, spam, or other inbox folders if you do not see it in your primary inbox.
What's the difference between the physical and virtual course book?
Those who attend the Retirement Education Course in-person receive a physical copy of the course materials. Those who attend virtually receive the exact same materials through TalentLMS, an online learning platform.
Should I bring my spouse or partner?
Yes. Based on our experience teaching tens of thousands of families, we believe retirement planning is most effective when approached as a team effort. We strongly encourage spouses or partners to attend together so you can hear the same information and have informed discussions moving forward.
Is Retirement Education Foundation legitimate?
Yes. The Retirement Education Foundation is a nonprofit educational program that provides retirement courses to help individuals better understand the financial topics that often accompany retirement. Our goal is simple: to provide practical education so participants can make more informed decisions and ask better questions about retirement. We do not offer financial services, and participation in a course does not obligate attendees to purchase products or work with any advisor.
How can I volunteer or partner with the Retirement Education Foundation?
If you are interested in volunteering or exploring partnership opportunities in support of REF’s mission, please contact our Program Director, Reagan Jones, at learn@refedu.org.
We welcome individuals and organizations who share our commitment to financial education and community impact.
